Describe a memorable moment from abroad

I was offered the opportunity to travel as a co-leader on my first ever faculty-led study abroad program in May 2022 to the Netherlands and Denmark. It was such a meaningful trip to see the work it takes to plan a trip, challenges and problem solving involved all while witnessing these students have life-changing experiences. I’ll never forget it!

What has your career path looked like? How did you end up in the field of International Education?

I started my career path in international education in 2016 when I was first offered a position to work at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi in the International Center. I worked as an office manager and had the opportunity to manage and plan faculty-led study abroad programming and ever since, I've found my vocation in education abroad. Since then, I worked at University of North Florida as the faculty-led study abroad coordinator for almost four years and completed my masters in Higher Education Administration.

A typical weekend for me is…

Walking on the beach with my husband, Jordan, and our fur baby Lucy!

Travel Tip:

Learn how to be uncomfortable with the unexpected or unplanned. Exposing yourself to new food, places or people that you did not necessarily plan for or schedule can be some of the most meaningful memories while traveling!
